Custom Caps & Hats

Custom embroidered caps, hats, beanies, and trucker hats for businesses, teams, and brands. Structured and unstructured styles available across California.

A well-made custom cap is one of the most versatile and cost-effective branded merchandise items you can produce. Caps are worn everywhere -- on job sites, at the gym, at events, and in everyday life -- putting your logo in front of hundreds of eyes every single day. At Uneak Creations in California, we produce custom hats for small businesses, construction companies, sports teams, farms and ranches, breweries, restaurants, and brand launches.

Types of Custom Caps We Produce

  • Structured baseball caps: The classic look. Firm front panels hold embroidery crisply. Available in cotton twill, wool blends, and performance fabrics from top brands like Richardson, Flexfit, New Era, and Pacific Headwear.
  • Unstructured baseball caps: Softer, lower-profile look popular with lifestyle and fashion brands. Sits closer to the head for a more relaxed appearance.
  • Trucker hats: Mesh back panels, foam front, and a retro feel. Hugely popular in California farm, ranch, and outdoor markets.
  • Dad hats / twill caps: Unstructured, low-profile, cotton twill with a curved brim. The most popular cap style for lifestyle brands and small businesses.
  • Snapbacks: Flat-brim caps with adjustable snap closure. Popular for streetwear, youth teams, and events.
  • Beanies and knit hats: Embroidered or patch beanies for cold-weather staff uniforms, ski resorts, and winter merchandise.
  • Performance and sport caps: Moisture-wicking, UV-protective headwear for outdoor workers, athletic teams, and events.

How Are Custom Caps Decorated?

Caps are decorated using three main methods:

  • Embroidery: The most popular method. Thread is stitched directly into the cap panels. Ideal for flat-brim caps, structured fronts, and side panels. Not recommended for highly detailed logos with fine lines -- embroidery simplifies small details.
  • Leather patches: A premium look. Your logo is laser-engraved onto a genuine or faux leather patch, which is then sewn or heat-applied to the front panel. Very popular for California brands in the outdoor, ranching, and craft beverage sectors.
  • Woven or PVC patches: Woven fabric patches or molded PVC rubber patches give a high-end, badge-like appearance. Great for team and brand merchandise.

Minimums for Custom Cap Orders

Embroidered caps typically have a minimum of 12-24 pieces depending on the style and logo complexity. Patch caps (leather or PVC) may have different minimums. Contact us for exact pricing -- we can usually accommodate smaller orders with a setup fee adjustment.

Frequently Asked Questions

DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. Your design is printed onto a special PET film using CMYK inks plus a white underbase, then an adhesive powder is applied and cured. The completed transfer is heat-pressed onto the garment at around 325 degrees for 10-15 seconds, bonding the design permanently to the fabric. The result is a full-color, soft, flexible print that works on virtually any material -- cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and more.

For DTF printing, there is NO minimum order -- you can order a single piece if needed, and the pricing is still fair. UV DTF printing on hard surfaces also has no minimum. For custom embroidery, minimums typically start at 6-12 pieces depending on the garment and stitch count. For company uniform programs, we recommend a minimum of 12-24 pieces per style to make the program cost-effective. Contact us and we will give you exact pricing for your specific quantity.

Our standard production turnaround is 5-7 business days from artwork approval. Rush orders are available in 2-3 business days for an additional rush fee -- ideal for last-minute events, gifts, or uniform needs. Large orders (500+ pieces) or complex projects may require additional time. We will always give you a realistic timeline upfront when you request a quote so you can plan accordingly.

A properly applied DTF print will last 50+ wash cycles without cracking, peeling, or significant fading. To maximize longevity: wash in cold water, turn garments inside out, avoid bleach, and tumble dry on low or hang to dry. DTF prints that peel prematurely are usually the result of incorrect heat press temperature, pressure, or time -- something we control carefully in our production process. We guarantee the quality of every print we produce.
